    Welding of metal structures — TIG, MIG/MAG and MMA at ELS Systems

    ELS Systems performs welding work for manufacturing metal structures, housings, frames, assemblies, and other products. Depending on the material, design, and technical requirements, we use TIG, MIG/MAG, and manual MMA welding.

    Welding can be a standalone production operation or part of an integrated manufacturing process — from preparing individual parts to obtaining a finished structure.

    We accept both ready-made customer blanks and parts manufactured directly at ELS Systems’ own production facility.

    What we manufacture with welding

    Welding is used to manufacture structures of various purposes and complexity. Typical products include:

    For assembled products, the precise relative positioning of components is especially important. That’s why preparation and welding take into account not only the quality of an individual weld, but the geometry of the entire structure.

    TIG, MIG/MAG and MMA — a technology matched to the task

    ELS Systems uses several welding technologies. The joining method is selected according to the material, thickness of the elements, product design, and requirements for the finished joint.

    TIG welding (gas tungsten arc) is used where process control, precision, and the quality of weld formation matter. This technology can be used to work with stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals according to the requirements of a specific product.

    MIG/MAG welding is suitable for a significant volume of welded joints and the manufacture of metal structures. It allows efficient work with frames, housings, chassis, and other assembled products.

    Manual MMA welding is used for structures and joints where this method is called for by the manufacturing technology, or is appropriate given the working conditions.

    Combining different technologies allows us to select the welding method for a specific material and structure, rather than using one universal process for all tasks.

    From individual parts to a finished structure

    The quality of a welded structure depends not only on how the weld is executed. It is important to properly prepare the components, verify their dimensions, define datums, and ensure the required relative positioning of parts before welding.

    ELS Systems works with both ready-made customer parts and manufactures components in-house.

    The following are available for preparing parts:

    • laser cutting;
    • sheet bending;
    • turning;
    • milling;
    • other production operations.

    After welding, the structure can, if needed, be passed on to machining, painting, and assembly.

    This means individual parts can go through the entire required production route within a single project.

    Work based on drawings and technical specifications

    Welded structures are manufactured according to the customer’s technical documentation. For project evaluation, general and assembly drawings, material, thickness of elements, types of joints, dimensions, quantity of products, and other requirements are important.

    If ready-made documentation is not available, or the structure needs to be refined before production, ELS Systems’ own design and engineering department can join the project.

    Specialists can work through a technical specification and prepare the documentation needed for subsequent manufacturing.

    This is especially relevant for custom equipment and structures created for a specific production task, rather than a standard design.

    Materials for welding

    ELS Systems works with carbon and stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals according to the capabilities of the equipment and the requirements of a specific project.

    Each material has its own welding technology characteristics. During production preparation, we take into account the metal grade, thickness of elements, joint type, and requirements for the finished structure.

    Choosing the appropriate technology allows us to account for the properties of the material and ensure the required characteristics of the welded joint.

    Quality control of welded structures

    During manufacturing, ELS Systems checks that the structure conforms to the agreed technical documentation and requirements for the finished product.

    We check the dimensions, geometry, and relative position of the main elements, as well as the parameters of the welded joints, which matter for subsequent assembly and operation.

    Heating of the metal during welding can affect the geometry of the structure, so the sequence of work is determined taking into account its shape, dimensions, and assembly features.

    Welding work for B2B

    For an industrial customer, welding is often just one stage of manufacturing. Before it, blanks and a set of parts need to be prepared, and after welding, machining, painting, or assembly may be needed.

    ELS Systems has its own production facility and design and engineering department, so welding work can be performed as a standalone service or as part of an integrated project.

    One production process can combine laser cutting, sheet bending, turning and milling, welding, painting, and assembly.

    ELS Systems works with both single products and repeatable batches.

    Single-unit manufacturing is relevant for custom frames, housings, equipment elements, and structures developed for a specific project.

    Series production is suitable for enterprises that need to regularly receive identical structures or assemblies in an agreed quantity.

    In series production, geometric repeatability, adherence to technical documentation, and process stability are especially important.
